Creatures of the Night

Art by Amy Nagi, from Youmacon 2007. I believe this may well be the first anime-style sketch I ever got. This is one of two sketches that went over really well at the convention. This one was the favorite of all the ladies present, the guys' favorite was Dirk Tiede's Kirk piece.

If you look closely, you'll see that while Batman's boots and gloves are their proper blue color, his cape and mask are the same gray as his bodysuit. That's my fault and mine only; I gave Ms. Nagi a scan from one of Norm Breyfogle's BATMAN issues as character reference, not paying any mind to the fact that his colorist on that issue was spectacularly inept at differentiating blue from gray. Ms. Nagi made the best of it, and I think the piece looks fine in spite of my mistake. Besides, the overwhelming gray of Batman's costume here really makes Catwoman pop more, so it ended up being for the best.
