It's a bird, it's a plane...it's the return of Steven Butler (WEB OF SPIDER-MAN, ARCHIE, SILVER SABLE) to my art collection! Having commissioned him back in 2007 for a Superman/Flash Gordon team-up piece that remains a highlight of my art collection, I felt a return engagement was long overdue. It ended up being delayed by a car accident I suffered back in April, but a few weeks ago I was fortunate enough to arrange a commission from him. Talk about fast service: he knocked this out in about a week or so and had it shipped out ASAP. You can't get better professionalism than that.
As far as the subject matter, I thought it would be fun to see Superman and Batman dancing up a storm with their lady loves, as well as an opportunity to see Butler's take on the Julie Newmar Catwoman. Add some images of jive dancing for reference, and you have something guaranteed to put a smile on most people's faces. And I've got to say, the idea of the Hall of Justice doubling as a dance hall tickles me to no end.
Any takers for coloring this?
